Cluster creation for Cloudera CDH5 -

i have server machine next configuration. 1) dual quad core xeon 2) 24 gb memory 3) 500 gb sata 4) 256 * 2 raid 1

the machine arrived , want install cdh5 in it. want create sand box / dev cluster. looking expert advice on

a) how many nodes can create? targeting 4-5 nodes. advisable. b) read cloudera manager should residing in node solid configuration. based on our configuration how much resource should allocated same. c) install ubuntu 12.4.

we new process. help helpful.

the reply , b purpose of cluster. allow me reply in case cluster test purpose.

a: 4-5 nodes should reasonable , cloudera manager can manage more hundreds nodes.

b: cloudera manager server can located other services (hdfs, mapreduce, or so). please see resource requirements here

c: ubuntu 12.04 supported.
