i having problem setting selected value of dropdownlist in asp.net saved record on mssql 2008 server.

to elaborate more dropdown contains list of countries after selecting desired country insert on mssql 2008 server made edit record page doing pulling record mssql 2008 server , setting selected value of dropdown here code:

dropdownlist.clearselection()
