CQ5 - "Server not ready, browser not launched" -

i running cq5.4, , attempting set local instance. followed instructions found on http://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/cq/5-4/howto/installingcq.html, however, server not launching. getting next error in stderr.log file:

exception in shutdown polling thread, giving up: java.io.ioexception: stream closed shutdown polling thread ends retrying http://localhost:7502/crx (connectexception) (1/60)... log4j:warn no appenders found logger (com.day.commons.httpclient.impl.proxyselector). log4j:warn please initialize log4j scheme properly. retrying http://localhost:7502/crx (connectexception) (3/60)...

and continues retry until quits, , message, "server not ready, browser not launched." suggestions?

i had uninstall java7 before server start. tried opening jar file java6, didn't work until had removed java7 machine. create sure have java6 version running in machine. if have java 7, seek uninstalling , retry.
