performance - Why is the Android emulator so slow? How can we speed up the Android emulator? -

i have 2.67 ghz celeron processor, , 1.21 gb of ram on x86 windows xp professional machine.

my understanding android emulator should start on such machine, me not. have followed instructions in setting ide, sdks, jdks , such , have had success in starting emulator quickly, rare. how can i, if possible, prepare problem?

even if starts , loads home screen, sluggish. have tried eclipse ide in version 3.5 (galileo) , 3.4 (ganymede).

android development tools (adt) 9.0.0 (or later) has feature allows save state of avd (emulator), , can start emulator instantly. have enable feature while creating new avd or can create later editing avd.

also have increased device ram size 1024 results in fast emulator.
