ruby on rails - ECONNREFUSED: Connection Refused localhost:11211 - Dalli / Memcachier / Heroku -

so on heroku getting issue. can't quite figure out why happening.

heroku run rails c > cache = dalli::client.new > rails.cache.write('memcachier', 'rocks') dalli::server#connect localhost:11211 localhost:11211 failed (count: 1) errno::econnrefused: connection refused - send localhost:11211 failed (count: 1) errno::econnrefused: connection refused - send localhost:11211 downwards localhost:11211 downwards

it sounds either don't have memcachier gem installed, or haven't added memcachier addon heroku app.

you can install memcachier addon command line:

heroku addons:add memcachier:dev

then create sure have both dalli gem , memcachier gems in gemfile

gem 'dalli' gem 'memcachier'

run bundle install, check in updated gemfile , gemfile.lock, force heroku , seek rails.cache.write again.
