Sql Server 2005 refuses to install on Windows 2008 R2 -- cannot find sql.cab -

i installing sql server 2005 standard client on windows server 2008 r2 machine @ hostgator. both windows , sql server 64-bit editions.

my client has copied disks folder on server. go through process , told installer bundle not found on installation media. if run sqlrun.msi, message specifies cannot find sql.cab.

suspecting corrupt copy, got re-create folder again. same thing happened. pointed out she'd copied disk 1 , disk 2 options all-in-one disk. tried disk 1. same thing happened.

at point corrupt media , corrupt copying not seem reasonable answers she's copied 2x 1 of media , has copied 2 different media sets -- , exact same thing has happened.

i tried hotfix @ http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950636 refused run, saying not applicable os.

i tried turning off firewall per http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/sqlserver/en-us/a9dc9b5a-6cf4-490d-bfbd-909818e45db0/cant-install-ss-2005-cant-find-sqlcab , didn't help. didn't seem create sense, i'll seek anything.

windows installer @ version 5, doesn't seem problem.

what else suggest?
