How to eject a USB HID Device from Mac OSX to use in Ubuntu VM? -

i'm running ubuntu 14.04lts, 64bit via virtualbox on mac. want talk usb hid device vm via python app (pyusb) can't select device. virtualbox -> devices -> usb devices see device it's grayed out.

i hoping find command run on mac terminal 'let go' of it, it's turning out more hard imagined. on ubuntu vm via windows 7, can take command of usb hid device via devices -> usb devices -> select device , talk fine.

is there reason why may not possible on mac?

there no concept of 'unmount in host os grab in vm's os'.

to plug-and-play device work:

shut downwards invitee machine. highlight invitee machine in virtualbox panel. go settings vm -> ports -> usb click greenish plus icon add together device. your usb device should visible, click add together that. remove usb device physical machine start vb , invitee os (in case ubuntu 14.04 lts, 64bit) plug in usb device inspect device has been captured vm's operating scheme in devices -> usb devices
